I came across Beyonce's song "Heaven", and as soon as I heard it it kind of hit too close to home, and kind of brought up some old memories. The sad kind. Listening to the song, all I could think of and see in my mind throughout was a feeling where you're in a vast body of water. You're not drowning, but you're not floating either, rather, you're fading into nothing. You're transfixed in a state where you cannot move, or save yourself even if you tried.
I couldn't get that picture out of my head, so I had to paint it. I had to get this off my chest. It's a pretty emotional song, so I apologize for this piece being quite emotional, and this description as well.
So this painting, I dedicate it to my late godfather, Rex Bell. Thank you for everything.
Inspired by Beyonce's "Heaven", and Nesskain 's painting, So cold but so sweet...
