see through beauty

Back in high school, I had to develop concepts for my final art piece, and one of them was for the 'butterfly'. See, I've always had this idea that the butterfly can symbolize a type of fake, illusive beauty. They're pretty when you look at them from afar, but coming from somebody with insectophobia, they freak me out and frankly, they're not so pretty up close.

So in relation to us, as people, sometimes we're a little like butterflies; we can be pretty on the outside, but it doesn't take much to see through the facade, and face the ugly truth.
